Booking & Reservations

How far in advance should I book my ride?

We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance for the best availability, especially during peak tourist seasons. However, we also accept last-minute bookings subject to vehicle availability. For airport transfers, we suggest booking at least 3-4 hours before your flight arrival time.

Can I modify or cancel my booking?

Yes, you can modify or cancel your booking up to 2 hours before your scheduled pickup time free of charge. For cancellations made less than 2 hours before the scheduled time, a small fee may apply. You can modify or cancel your booking through the confirmation email or by contacting our customer service.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept multiple payment methods for your convenience: cash (TZS, USD, EUR), credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard), mobile money (Tigo Pesa, M-Pesa, Airtel Money), and bank transfers. For online bookings, we accept card payments and mobile money.

Is there a waiting time charge?

We provide a 15-minute grace period after the scheduled pickup time at no extra charge. After this period, a waiting fee of 5,000 TZS per 15 minutes will apply. For airport pickups, we monitor flight arrivals and provide 60 minutes of free waiting time from the actual landing time.

What types of vehicles do you offer?

Our fleet includes various vehicle types to suit different needs: Sedans (4 passengers), SUVs (6 passengers), Minivans (8 passengers), and Luxury vehicles for special occasions. All our vehicles are well-maintained, air-conditioned, and driven by professional drivers.

Do you provide child seats?

Yes, we provide child safety seats upon request at an additional charge of 10,000 TZS per trip. Please specify your need for a child seat during booking and provide the age of the child so we can provide the appropriate seat type.

Can I request a specific driver?

While we cannot guarantee a specific driver due to scheduling, you can request a preferred driver in the special requests section during booking. We will do our best to accommodate your request if the driver is available.

Do you offer tour packages?

Yes, we offer various tour packages including Stone Town tours, Spice Farm visits, Prison Island excursions, and custom tours. Our drivers are knowledgeable about Zanzibar's attractions and can provide information during your tour. You can book tours through our website or by contacting us directly.

Pricing & Payments

Are your prices fixed or metered?

We offer fixed-price quotes for all pre-booked rides, so you know the exact cost before your journey. For on-demand rides, we use a calculated rate based on distance and time that is shown before you confirm the booking. There are no hidden charges or surprises.

Do you charge extra for luggage?

Standard luggage (1 suitcase and 1 carry-on per passenger) is included in the quoted price. For excessive luggage or special items (surfboards, golf clubs, etc.), an additional charge may apply. Please inform us during booking if you have extra or oversized luggage.

Are there additional fees for airport pickups?

Airport pickups include all airport fees in the quoted price. There are no additional charges for airport meet-and-greet service. Our driver will monitor your flight arrival time and adjust accordingly if your flight is early or delayed.

Do you offer corporate or long-term rental discounts?

Yes, we offer special rates for corporate clients, long-term rentals, and frequent travelers. Please contact our business services team at corporate@zancab.com to discuss customized pricing based on your needs.

What safety measures do you have in place?

Your safety is our priority. All our vehicles undergo regular maintenance and safety inspections. Our drivers are trained in defensive driving and first aid. We also provide 24/7 customer support and real-time ride tracking for added security.

Are your drivers licensed and insured?

Yes, all our drivers are properly licensed with the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism and have undergone background checks. All vehicles are fully insured for passenger liability, providing you with peace of mind during your journey.

What COVID-19 safety protocols do you follow?

We follow all recommended health guidelines: vehicles are sanitized between rides, drivers wear masks, hand sanitizer is provided, and we offer contactless payment options. You can request windows to be open for additional ventilation during your ride.

What should I do if I left an item in a vehicle?

Contact us immediately at +255 773 244 839 with your booking details and description of the lost item. We will coordinate with the driver to locate your item. Found items are kept at our office for 30 days. We offer delivery service for recovered items at an additional charge.

How do I provide feedback about my experience?

We welcome your feedback! You can rate your ride through the link in your confirmation email, complete our feedback form on the website, or share your experience directly with our customer service team. We review all feedback and use it to improve our services.
